Feb 10, · Uffe's songs are of course the Entombed sound, even though this is still the rock 'n' roll metal period. Alex didn't write anything for this album (for some reason). And Jörgen's (the bass player) efforts are Slayeresque but from the slower commercial period, like a Entombed/Slayer blend with a couple of KISS solos, which sums this album up/5(10).

Entombed's previous cd, Same Difference, disappointed much of the band's fan base, as it discarded all elements of death metal and went for a mainstream heavy rock sound. The vocals were cleaned up, the riffs were mostly simple, modern radio-style hard rock, and only a few somewhat heavier tracks kept the album in the metal section of the /5(15).

Entombed on this album are a great deal more aggressive than the average rock band, and hell, for the average metal band as well. No percussive acrobatics are necessary: the album is devoid of tremolo picking, double bass, blast beats or death growls.
